I know a torch would be handy for the cenotes but what else should I pack when planning a dive trip to Mexico?

Here is a list of items that you should consider packing for diving in Mexico:

    1. Dive gear: Depending on the type of diving you will be doing, you may need to bring your own dive gear or rent it locally. This could include a wetsuit, fins, mask, snorkel, regulator, buoyancy control device (BCD), and dive computer.

    2. Dive certification card: You will need to present your dive certification card when diving in Mexico. Make sure to bring it with you.

    3. Sun protection: The sun can be intense in Mexico, so it’s important to bring sun protection to protect your skin while diving. This could include a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen.

    4. Beach and swim gear: You’ll likely want to spend some time on the beach or pool while in Mexico, so be sure to pack your swimsuit, towel, and beach shoes.

    5. Personal items: Don’t forget to bring any personal items you may need, such as a toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, and other toiletries.

    6. Medications: If you take any medications, be sure to bring enough for the duration of your trip.

    7. Cash: It’s a good idea to bring some cash with you in case you need to pay for anything while diving, such as rental gear or tips.

    8. Passport: If you are traveling internationally to dive in Mexico, be sure to bring your passport with you.

    9. Other documents: Depending on your travel arrangements, you may also need to bring other documents such as travel insurance, visas, and tickets.

It’s always a good idea to check with your dive operator or instructor to see if there are any additional items that you should bring. They will be able to provide you with specific recommendations based on the type of diving you will be doing and the location.
